August 5, 201114 yr So after stalking the forums for a few months, I finally bit the bullet and bought Unraid Pro last week. I started my server with 2 brand new WD20Ears 2 TB drives (1 data, 1 parity). I then copied over all of my data from an existing drive, cleared that drive and added it to the array. Everything seems to be working fine and it did pass a parity check after copying the drive. I did notice the following messages in the syslog: Aug 5 17:02:11 Tower kernel: scst: ***WARNING***: Patch io_context was not applied on your kernel. SCST will be working with not the best performance. (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:02:11 Tower kernel: ata3: softreset failed (device not ready) (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:02:11 Tower kernel: ata2: softreset failed (device not ready) (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:02:11 Tower kernel: ata1: softreset failed (device not ready) (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:02:17 Tower emhttp: shcmd (17): killall -HUP smbd (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:13:17 Tower logger: missing codepage or helper program, or other error (Errors) Aug 5 17:13:17 Tower emhttp: disk2 mount error: 32 (Errors) Aug 5 17:13:17 Tower kernel: REISERFS warning (device md2): sh-2021 reiserfs_fill_super: can not find reiserfs on md2 (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:13:18 Tower emhttp: shcmd (45): killall -HUP smbd (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:16:54 Tower emhttp: shcmd (53): killall -HUP smbd (Minor Issues) Aug 5 17:46:26 Tower emhttp: shcmd (62): killall -HUP smbd (Minor Issues) The two that were listed as errors were not there before adding the latest precleared drive, but I think they might just be because of the new drive's first boot. Are any of the errors or "minor issues" things I should be worried about? I will attach the complete syslog to this message. I was also wondering if someone could help me setup Cool and Quiet on my server. I have a AMD X2 5000 Black edition running on a Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3. Yes I know that Gigabyte boards are not recommended, but I got the latest bios which is supposed to disable HPA. And I haven't seen any HPA issues besides the one old drive still had HPA from an old bios. I removed the HPA from that drive following the forum's guide. My complete specs are: Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 AMD X2 5000+ Black edition 4*1 GB DDR2 800mhz Corsair 450 Watt powersupply (the good one that was made by Seasonic) I am using the built in Sata ports, but did purchase the card that Limetech uses. Unraid 4.7 with Unmenu and a few of the Unmenu packages. syslog-2011-08-05.txt
