Rebuild will take 4300 days, cpu spiking 100%

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster - I started using Unraid back in 2016.

I had a drive fail a week or so back, it was an Arsenal drive that was probably rebranded because the serial number doesn't match with what unraid shows, so I couldn't find it easily.   So I shut down the server, pulled the front (hot swap) drives to make sure they were labeled right and still couldn't find it.    I had a 12TB available so I added it to a new slot on the system.

When I restarted, I got the dreaded beep beep beep and then boot loop freeze.    After a few days of troubleshooting, I think either the CPU or memory died on the server.   I had a dual E5-2670 Intel server board.    I was able to move my LSI card and get things hooked up and working on a PC I was using for a studio, and the systems came right up (thank you, Unraid team for making THAT incredibly easy!)

However, I had a failure with Disk 15, so I changed it to the new drive I installed and started the array to rebuild that drive.   It's showing emulated, and appears to be working - but I'm getting tons of read errors on Disk 13 now, and I have a feeling it's about to die, which is possibly why this rebuild is showing between 4000-8000 days and has made it to 0.02% since yesterday.

I read through a lot of these similar issues here, but not sure what would be best in my situation - since the files are emulated, should I try to identify what's on Drive 15 and copy it somewhere else?    Or should I try to move files off Drive 13?    Or am going the wrong direction entirely?   I double checked my cables, etc.

Posting diagnostics taken just minutes ago, if anyone has the experience to glance over this and provide some guidance I greatly appreciate it.

I've turned all dockers off except Plex, and I saw "find" spike out while watching "top" last night, so I disabled folder caching for now.
