Server keeps crashing every 20-30 min

Featured Replies

Hello,

As the title says, my server keeps crashing every 20-30 min. I have enabled the syslog but I don't see anything strange. I have attached it (maybe you can find something I missed)

To give you a little background; two weeks ago I replaced a JKTINK 6 port SATA PCIE expansion card with for a Silverstone ECS07. Everything worked fine for about a week. Then I decided to move my "domains" share from my downloadtemp to my cache. Everything worked fine for a couple of days. I wake up this morning and the server is in a reboot loop (every 20 min). No clue what changed or what happened to trigger this behavior.

Couple things to note:

- For some reason, every time the server reboots, the 3 nvme's are under Unassigned devices. (see screenshots attached). I put them back as cache and after the next crash they are back in Unassigned devices.

- The Silverstone ECS07 gets VERY hot to the touch and seems to be beeping sometimes... could it be overheating ?

- I installed PowerTop and played around with it before installing the Silverstone ECS07 but could it be interfering with it ?

Server Specs:

- 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12600K

- ASRock Z790 PG-ITX/TB4

- Noctua NH-L9i-17xx

- Kingston Fury Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz DDR5 running at 4800MHz

- Be quiet SFX-L 500W power supply

- 2x Samsung 970 Evo as cache

- 1 x Adata SX-8200 as DownloadTemp

- Jonsbo N1 Case

Thanks in advance for the help !

If you do a clean reboot do the NVMe devices remain assigned?

Yes they do

Just to try something, I put a fan on the Silverstone ECS07 and for now it hasn't crashed in 45min
