Featured Replies

A disk in my arrow shows thumbs down with an error, but i ran the extended SMART test, and at the end it shows no errors found. I am attaching the logs with this thread, kindly let me know if i should change the disk before they crash on me

There's a pending sector, but since the extended SMART test passed it's a false positive, you can click on it and acknowledge.

P.S. you should improve your disk cooling, 45C would be the max I would be comfortable with.

Will thanks for looking into it. ANy tips on disk cooling? I have a 4U supermicro chassis with 24 bay. The chassis has Norco Fans. Any suggestions, i would like to bring the heat down, some disks get hot upto 62 degs.

I have a 4u case, which came with 4 Norco style high airflow 80mm fans on the fanwall. It was noisy and not cool enough

I removed the fanwall frame completely and replaced it with 3x 140mm noctua fans. 140x3 forms a 420mm fanwall that perfectly fills up the space where my fanwall was. The setup is cooler and relatively quiet. I got about 10C improvement in drive temps
