Does anyone know how full you can make hard drives on unraid?

Featured Replies

In Windows, it is common knowledge that you shouldn't fill a hard drive more than 80% of its formated capacity because when you do, the performance of the drive is negatively impacted.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with filling hard drives over 80% on unraid and if it impacts the performance in a similar way to windows formating.

( I did a search here before posting, but I didn't find anything using these specific keywords)

90% is usually fine, also depending on the filesystem used, you can use more for WORM data.
