Clayto
Hi, I have an array pool of 3 - 12 TB drives with one parity. I have just purchased a 20 TB drive that will need to be the parity drive, and I will use the current 12 TB parity drive as a data disk. I have been looking everywhere and need help finding the correct way to upgrade my array. I have seen many examples and want to confirm the proper process before proceeding. Install and test the new parity drive (optional) Stop the array, place the new drive in the parity slot and start the array. After the rebuild, stop the array and assign the old drive as a data disk. This will trigger a format / clear function. I have a backup of my important data, so keeping parity is not essential, but keeping the array working is. Please let me know if this is correct. If not, what is the proper process? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
