Featured Replies

Hey All,

I enabled USER shares in read/write with the Asterisk and hit apply. Now I cannot see the tower from my browser and my shares are all screwed up in windows.

How can set the shares back to don't export from the server itself.

Regards,

Dave

Hello,

shutdown the server removed the flash and installed it in my pc. I Edited the config file where the shares are stored with my back up file. I bought 2 pro server keys when I set the machine up in case I wanted to build a second machine later. I cannot recall now without looking boot there was only one line to change back so I just used the config file on the back up to compare the two to see the differences in permissions.

Regards,

You can start in yast to setup the directories or drives you want to share, also if you want samba to start at boot.

when you have the shares enabled you will need to tell samba what user names and passwords it should accept.

To do that, in a teminal, as root, type "smbpasswd -a <username goes here>"  you will be asked for the password for that user and you will have to repeat it.  Do the above for all users that you want to have access to the files.
