April 28, 20233 yr Hello, this morning I set up my array for the first time. I've created an array made of 2x12TB HDD, where one of them is dedicated to parity. When I've started the array, the parity build started. I read the build could take some times but I want to understand if it's normal that after 5 hours it still reports 0.5%. I don't see any way to check if the parity build is really running (other then checking if the process unraidd0 is running, and it is actually). Is there any logs I could check? And is it normal that it's still at 0.5% after 5h? NOTE: the estimated finish time is stuck at 13h sicne this morning, I don't think I can believe it
April 28, 20233 yr Can you please attach your diagnostics? Tools>Diagnostics>Download If you click on Main and the Array Operation tab what is it showing you there about the Parity Sync?

April 28, 20233 yr Community Expert Sync is still going, you have a stale config, are you using Firefox?

The array is started and I can see the progress of the sync, as you could see from the screenshot below: I had a temperature warning message regarding one of the 2 HDD, but I guess this could be normal since the pair sync is actually running. I suppose that it's better to wait until the parity sync will be completed to format the disks and start using them. Am I right?
April 28, 20233 yr Community Expert You can format now, but avoid transferring data until the sync is done, or both operations will slow down a lot.
