Do i need a ssd cache for an all ssd data pool ?

Recommended Posts

Thanks mousiee, I have 4 sata ssd 2.5 (Samsung and Patriot) for the pool and planning to have 2 NVMe ssd for the cache. I can have a very good deal for 2*1To NVMe Samsung 970 evo plus for 90 euros (almost same price as the 500Go ones)

Even if the cache size is overkill, do you think the configuration will be fine ?

What will you be using the server for? I don't think you can really go wrong with what you're suggesting, some nvme storage is always nice for running docker/vm and a handful of other uses.
