How do I make ZFS pool accesable via smb.

Featured Replies

Hello

I just migrated from TrueNAS Core to Unraid. I'm trying to get my existing ZFS Pool/Dataset imported.

I created a simple array with only my 120gb ssd (from what I read I need to have a normal array present on my machine)

I installed the ZFS plugin, ZFS companion, Unassigned Devices, and Unassigned Devices Plus plugins

I went into the terminal and did "zpool import POOLNAME"

I'm not sure how to get this pool accessible via smb now. The post I'm reading telling me how to import the pool said somthing about SMB Extras settings to make it accessible as an SMB share but didn't say exactly how to do so.

Is this correct? Do I need to add a Samba extra configuration, and what is it that I need to add to the configuration.

Also is the best current way to import an existing ZFS Pool, or is there a better modern method I should be using instead.

Thanks, Izzy : )

Please use the existing ZFS plugin support thread, there are posts there on how to do it, or ask again since it's a large thread and if you don't find it:
