Array wont start on boot?

Featured Replies

My Server has been running without problem for over a year.

a parity drive and 3 storage HDD

I decided this week to add a cache drive and bought a 512gb SSD

I installed it and formatted it, used MOVER and moved appdata and docker etc

all went well.

I shut the server down and re booted, normally after about 4-5mins the array is online.
This wasn't working so i logged in and array was offline
The cache drive tried to add itself as Disk 4 in the array?
I clicked disk 4 and chose unassigned, then automatically the cache drive appear in Pool as cache again?
Start the array manually all ok.
Unless i reboot the server and then its offline again

Anybody got an idea why it wont remember to just startup as a cache drive in pool?

That's a weird one, update to v6.11.5 and then do a new config to see if it helps.

Did you do a new config?

Tools -> New config -> Keep all

re-assign disk4 to cache, check "parity is already valid", start array then reboot to see if it sticks.

I have run NEW CONFIG and now waiting for the parity rebuild.

Its gonna take a while ;)

I didnt check "parity is already valid" as i figured i need to do a parity run anyway, its been a month!
