May 3, 20233 yr I got a new 16TB drive and started a preclear on it. It's 8% of the way through the pre-read cycle and the "udma crc error count" SMART attribute has been climbing steadily, up to 85 at this point. It's on a SATA port where I just installed a new SATA cable, but I'm guessing it's a poor connection for some reason. Should I let the pre-clear continue, or kill it and try to fix? There's another drive doing a pre-clear at the same time with no issues.
