Looking for help troubleshooting a daily unplanned restart of the tower server.

Featured Replies

THis server is randomly rebooting daily, which kicks off a pairity sync, I've tried the AMD tweaks, looking for advice for where to look next.

You can enable the syslog server to see if it catches something but that looks more like a hardware problem, have you run memtest?

I have done a memory test with no errors.  Restarted on it's own again last night at 9:28 pm.

Attached is the syslog server file from that time.

Thanks!

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this usually points to a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.

I'm still having random restarts.  I thought it might be the UPS so I disabled it and it still restarted about 3 days later.  So I removed 2 of 4 memory sticks and it went for 5 days before it restarted.  I'm going to swap the other 2 today and try it.  I'm using it as a plex server so I would rather not be without it completely running in safe mode.  I will if all else fails.  If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate suggestions.  Thanks!
