istr1
Trying to get some issues sorted out on my unraid server and I notice that my cache drive is almost full. I see plenty of files that should have been moved and have creation dates from 2018. The mover gives the error in the title when running it manually. Is this a split level share issue, or something else. In 4 of my 5 shares I have the warning that some of my files are unprotected. Is this also related to the files not being moved off of the cache rive? tower-diagnostics-20230507-1617.zip Edited May 9, 2023 by istr1 Solved Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Cache=prefer moves from array to cache, you want cache=yes, then run the mover. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Files only get moved from cache pool to array if you have Use Cache setting for a share set to Yes. Your Media share is set to Prefer which means you WANT them to be on the cache if space permits so you should change this to Yes . You also have not set the Minimum Free Space value for the pool which should be set to be larger than the biggest file you expect to cache so it triggers overflow to the array rather than filling the cache pool up completely. Having said that you DO have a 100GB value on the Media share itself so that will kick in in this case for that share. 5 hours ago, istr1 said: In 4 of my 5 shares I have the warning that some of my files are unprotected. You normally WANT the appdata and system shares on the pool for performance reasons so you can use a plugin to periodically back their contents up to the array. Quote Link to comment

So if I setup a redundant cache pool then the exclamations will go away? Quote Link to comment
