Which of the VMs are running?  And your issue (presumably you saw it from Fix Common Problems) is out of memory issues, not what that FAQ entry is all about

Actually none of the VMs were running. I disabled auto start for all of them.

Actually there are only 3-4 docker containers running and they don't seem to be using much. The VMs are also stopped. I think there is a memory leak somewhere. I will try the swapfile plugin out.

Stop the containers, it RAM utilizations doesn't decrease it could be a leak, and in that case try booting in safe mode.
