August 15, 201114 yr Has anyone seen one of these, I am looking for a cheap way to put 5 drives in a 3 drive space, all I want is the cage to mount the drives in. If these would work it could save some money.
August 15, 201114 yr Author I was looking at just the metal cage for the rpc-450 and it looked it might be able to get 5 3.5 drives in it. I am looking for just the metal cage with out the fans or any electronics. I will use case fan cooling or make my own, same with wiring. I don't like the ideal of having to spend $100 plus for drive cages, that's why I just want the bare cage if I can find one, might be wishful thinking.
August 16, 201114 yr I am not sure I understood correctly are you looking for something like : http://perkouw.eu/?p=79 [page is not in english but it was the only one I could find with back and front picture) (11euro a piece http://cybershop.ri-vier.nl/5-bay-mobile-rack-module-hdr5-p-104.html) I got myself a few of these. and except the fan (120mm) that needs replacement they are ok. specially for the price I did not need trays or anything fancy on a couple of my comps... so this was the way to go..
