August 16, 201114 yr I was browsing around on ipcdirect.net and ran into this: http://www.ipcdirect.net/servlet/Detail?no=210 Is this a fan control splitter or does it have any switches or other ways to actually control the fans besides fixed power? Where does it mount/connect let's say in a 4220? Thanks.
August 16, 201114 yr That is standard in the norco RPC cases. that is to split the power for the fanwall. the fans are actually hot plug and that is essentially the backplane for them. you can see it in this photo http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5912.msg121195#msg121195
August 17, 201114 yr It is essentially just a power splitter, it doesn't offer any control. I suppose you could use it to hook up several fans to a single fan controller (either external or on a motherboard). You could also use the standard two-sided fan power cables and achieve the same effect.
August 17, 201114 yr Author thanks. My search for better 4220 PWN fans and/or a controller continues.
