August 16, 201114 yr I'm looking at building a somewhat sizable unraid box which looks like: NORCO CHASSIS - RPC-4020 CORSAIR HX850W 850w POWER SUPPLY SUPERMICRO MOTHERBOARD C2SEA INTEL CELERON E3400 2.6G CPU 4GB RAM ADAPTEC 6805 SATA III RAID CONTROLLER KIT 10 x 2TB 7200 RPM, SATA 6G, 64MB CACHE SEAGATE BARRACUDA XT HARD DRIVE (I will add a SAS expander and another 12 drives in the near future) I haven't seen any discussion on the Adaptec 6805 RAID controller. Has anyone successfully used this card and/or know if it's supported? Thanks for the help. TM
August 17, 201114 yr The 6805 is a very pricy controller. Overkill for unRAID. Unless you have one, not sure why you'd consider it. I do not think I've ever heard of anyone here using one with unRAID. I'd recommend finding an M1015 on eBay. It is a good 8 port PCIe x8 SAS/SATA controller. And then add a SASLP (8 port PICe x4 card) and max our your array.
