unRaid does never empty cache disk

Featured Replies

hello unRaid community

There is something I can't get about cache disk.

It remains very high on usage.

I tried to force with mover : no effect

I tried to disable cache for all shares : no effect

Can someone explain ?

Thx !

Have you read the help built into the GUI about how the Use Cache setting on shares work, and how this interacts with Mover?   There is also more detailed descriptions in the online documentation.

As an example setting Use Cache to No which you mentioned just stops new files going to the cache but leaves any files already untouched.

Mover only moves data off of cache disk and onto the array for shares that are set to cache: yes

You need to read and understand the various cache settings and make sure you have the shares set properly

Cache settings documentation.

This is the expected behavior.  This does not move anything off cache drive that is already there.
