June 7, 20233 yr Just for the record, this media server is not live yet and all of my files are backed up. Im simply transferring from one server to my unraid, and it's almost done! I have 3 drives giving me errors. Disk 2, 5, and 6 attached are the logs tower-diagnostics-20230607-1115.zip Edited June 7, 20233 yr by russo
June 7, 20233 yr Community Expert I looked at your Diagnostics file at the SMART reports for the disks you had question about. Each of them had one CRC error (Attribute 199) logged. (CRC events never should cause any issues. The data is simply resend until it is received correctly. In fact, 99.999% of CRC are not even a disk problem but rather they occur during the SATA data transmission between the disk and the SATA controller.) An occasional CRC error is not a problem. If you get continuous CRC errors or even a burst of them, you do want to investigate. (I have one disk that has had 1823 CRC errors since August of 2022 and not another since that date!) I believe you can reset the 'thumbsdown' by click (Not sure if right or left click...) on that icon on the Dashboard tab/page. After accepting the error, just keep an eye on the situation to see if you get any more.
