Need Help with Boot Failure when ICY BOX is Connected - 6.12.0-rcX

Featured Replies

Here's some more info about my setup:

Unraid Version: 6.12.0-rc7

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950x

Mainboard: ASRock B650E PG-ITX WiFi

Impacted device: ICY BOX Type-C or Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 2

Hey folks,

I've hit a wall here and could really use your expertise. I've been trying to boot up with 6.12.0-rcX but keep running into issues. This has been happening with all the 6.12.0-rc releases over the past months.

My boot fails every time my ICY BOX Type-C or Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 2 is connected. The error I'm seeing is that the device with the label UNRAID isn't found and it asks me to press the ENTER key to reboot (which isn't working). When I disconnect the ICY BOX, just for a moment during the boot process, everything works fine.

Here's where it's getting stuck:

mount: proc mounted on /proc
mount: sysfx mounted on /sys
mount: tmpfs mounted on /run.
waiting up to 30 sec for device with label UNRAID to come online ... random: crng init done
"not found" - press ENTER key to reboot . . .

Has anyone else experienced this, or do you have any ideas on what might be going wrong? I have added the syslogs, the mounting is happening around:

Jun 8 07:19:45 nas-3 kernel: usb 4-1.2.2: new SuperSpeed Plus Gen 2x1 USB device number 10 using xhci_hcd

This attempt is successful though. Since it's a fresh restart. It is a pain to always shutdown the server, disconnect the device, start the server and wait until it passes the moment (I can see it once the resolution on the screen changes) and connect it back. A remote reboot is impossible because it gets stuck and I can't do anything about it without being physically there.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thanks!
