So... how long could/should a "long time" be?

For me, disk1 disk2 it was very quick - around about 60 seconds per drive which are 2TB.

 

But more than likely this is because on those disks I have my movies which mostly consist of very large files, from disk3 onwards it took almost an hour, due to me using these disks for backups and also I keep a lot of my audio sample CD's on these disks which has 1000's of very small files, so setting the permissions for all these small files takes time.
