Parity disk error but no errors?

Featured Replies

Right about 3:15 this afternoon I got an alert saying my parity drive had failed.

I shut down the array, grabbed the diagnostics, and ran a smart test on the parity drive. No errors.

So how do I fix this problem and get my array back online?

Diagnostics are attached.

Parity disk dropped offline, please note that we don't recommend using USB for array/pool disks, they are prone to random disconnects and bad at error handling in general.

When that's all you have, that's what you use.

You can re-sync parity, but sooner or later that disk or one of the other ones will possibly drop out again.
