Long story short,

System and appdata were on the array disk1. I changed the share to cache and manually moved them to the cache pool.

On disk1 the two folder remain but are empty.

I have tried to delete them after disabling docker and vm but it tells me the folders are in use or there is a process stopping the deletion of the folders. I checked for processes using those folders and there are none.

Any suggestions?

Fresh install:

parity
disk1
disk2
disk3

Cache
Cache2
Chache3

Those are zfs datasets, so they cannot be removed like that, easiest way is to use the mover, set the array as the secondary storage for both shares and the mover direction from array to pool, then run the mover.

Thank you for your help!

That solved the problem.

Follow up if you don't mind.

Should I leave the array as the secondary and the mover action to cache or can I remove that to only have cache as the primary storage and no secondary?

Thanks.

You can remove now, only leave if you want that if cache fills up for those shares it overfills to the array, which is likely not needed for those.
