Posted August 20, 201113 yr I think I saw something about this here before but cannot find it in search. Now that my unRAID server is happily running Squeezebox server, I'd like to get a few instances of squeezeslave (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeSlave) running on it and complete my whole house consolidation to one box. However, the sticking point is playing music out of the unRAID server. I have an m-audio delta 410 sound card that gives me 4x stereo pairs (zones). Any thoughts on how I might get this working in unRAID? Peter
August 20, 201113 yr You would need to learn how to compile your own custom kernel for unRAID. You need to enable all the needed sound drivers. You also need to install the needed sound libraries and addons such as ALSA or whatever the media library of the day is.
August 20, 201113 yr Author Thanks BRiT Want to stay away from custom kernels - been there done that and find it cumbersome. Will stick with a separate low power headless win xp box for audio distribution. Peter
