June 25, 20233 yr I have been having issues since upgrading my system with a new CPU and motherboard a few months ago. Sometimes a parity check would be fine, a few errors fixed, but other times during the check, the system would crash. The system had been working perfectly before the upgrade for at least a year. One of the errors I saw reported after a crash in the syslog was related to bad sata cables, others seemed to point to heat related issues. I have replaced all the sata cables and replaced the Fractal Node 304 case fans with Noctua PWM fans so I can use the Fan Auto Control plugin, however the problem persists. Fix common problems reports no errors or warnings. My setup is as follows: Unraid server Plus, version 6.12.1 Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z590I AORUS ULTRA CPU: 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-11400 @ 2.60GHz RAM: 32GB, 2 x Corsair CMK32GX4M2Z2400C16, 16 GiB DDR4 @ 2400 MT/s Parity: WD WDC_WD140EDGZ 14TB Array: 4 x HGST Ultrastar 8TB, 1 x Seagate Iron Wolf Pro 14tb Cache: Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN550 Boot: Lexar Memtest is in progress, will add results syslog.zipsmart.zip
June 25, 20233 yr Author Solution Memtest identified issues with one of my sticks of RAM, have removed it and will see how things go with just the 16GB of good memory. Edit: Parity test running fine, up to 30% already, found and fixed some errors, system temps look great discs max 37degC. I think this issue is solved.
