June 28, 20233 yr Hi! I have installed a 14 tb drive. Disk clear is running really slooooowly. It. is projected for 500-600 days. Is there a way to skip disk-clear or speed it up? I need the drive online asap. Thanks

June 29, 20233 yr Author Yes, here is the report. Thanks in advance galaxy-diagnostics-20230629-1120.zip
June 29, 20233 yr Community Expert Not sure why the clear is going so slowly I would normally expect it take something like ~2 hours per TB. I see hundreds of lines in the syslog of the form: Jun 24 15:12:56 Galaxy nginx: 2023/06/24 15:12:56 [alert] 4997#4997: worker process 8572 exited on signal 6 Jun 24 15:12:57 Galaxy nginx: 2023/06/24 15:12:57 [alert] 4997#4997: worker process 8573 exited on signal 6 not sure what is causing them but they are not normal.
June 29, 20233 yr Author Thanks for taking a look. HOW TO I kill the process and just install the drive?
June 29, 20233 yr Community Expert You cannot use the drive until it's been cleared, if you forced it it'd invalidate your parity protection. Maybe a reboot could help, if not it could be a hardware issue... Edited June 29, 20233 yr by Kilrah
