T800 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I'm running a server on 4.7 I have precleared 7 disks so far and I'm on my last 2. After 24 hours I came back to the server and one of the pre-clears looked like this, can some one tell me what it means: I get this warning before pre-clearing some disks: This one mentions re-alloctaed sectors, drive going bad? Let me know if you need any more info like a log etc.
Joe L. Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 First pict Drive was not cleard, diagnostic dump it mbr to assist with debugging Second You are using disk controller that does not like -d ata option. And, you are possibly using old version of preclear script. Third Need to read preclear thread to learn about reallocatrd sectors. Drive looked good.
T800 Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 How would I diagnostic dump it to mbr? The disk controller is a SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8. I will update the script tonight, I put that script on about 4 weeks ago. I will have a look at re-allocated sectors, thanks.
