June 30, 20233 yr Currently I have 1 m.2 as a cache pool and another m.2 as a cache pool. The second cache pool is where I run dockers and vm's. I am concerned about hardware failure and would like to be better prepared. I recentl;y watched this video Now my motherboard only has 2 m.2 slots available. I have looked at pci expanders but I had a different idea. I have available sata ports on my motherboard. So here is my idea 1. Replace the existing Pool1 m.2 cache drive with a sata ssd. 2. Move the m.2 cache drive to Pool 2 (that makes it 2 m.2 cache drives in pool 2. 3. Take Pool 2 and convert it to ZFS (I have a lot to learn about ZFS) Configure ZFS to better protect the Pool 2 cache. Am I on the right track. Any suggestions? Thanks Bill
