July 5, 20233 yr I setup a timemachine share a few weeks ago and automatic backups have completed successfully up until today when i received an error reporting not enough space to complete backup. When i check the unraid timemachine share, it shows more than 6TB free. Time machine itself reports 130gb available and I have the Time Machine volume size limit set on Unraid at 500GB. Any reason why my macbook isn't able to complete the backup? Shouldn't it just delete older backups to make space for the new ones? Edited July 5, 20233 yr by rama3124
May 25, 20242 yr Follow these steps: Go to Settings->SMB and turn on "Enhanced macOS interoperability:". The Array has to be stopped before you can make this change. Start the Array. Go to Shares->your share->SMB Security Settings and choose one of the Time Machine selections for Export. Fill in the amount of space desired for Time Machine backups. It's the "Time Machine volume size limit:" field. Because of a quirk in Samba, this volume size limit will be the size of the entire share. Hope this helps.
