Getting Unraid API error almost every 3 days since update to 6.12

Featured Replies

Hello,

I need some help. Every since I updated to 6.12, around every 4 days, I have to restart my server to get this "Unraid API Error" to be "fixed". However, as I've been doing this, one of my dockers is having some issues with the constant restarts. I've tried to "unraid-api restart" command and it doesn't do anything. I am really tempted to go back to 6.11 (cause it was the most stable for me and lasted around 95 days without hiccup, then I decided to update and here I am) but I don't have a flash backup to prior 6.12 that isn't too old.

So, I have two requests.
1. Can someone please help be solve this issue?

2. Can someone please share with me a way to go back to 6.11 either by command lines or another method (just without losing any data)

Thanks in advance

Update 1: rollback back to 6.11.5 and now I'm waiting to see if this issue will happen again in ~3 days

Update 2: The rollback seemed to have worked, going on ~5 days of uptime and there hasn't been an issue at all.

I'm getting the exact same error poping up, been happening for about 24 or so hours at least.

edit-1:
I signed out and unregistered my instance just to see what would happen if i tried reconnecting it again and it's showing similar error still:

edit-2: Error is gone now, i reset my router 2 days ago some settings may of been causing the error they were firewall/ddos (general security) that i altered and now the error is gone. I'll try to verify if this is what was causing it on my end and which setting and update soon.

Edit-3: Error still gone, i'm not 100% sure the cause I did adjust dns & firewall settings in router unsure which if any was the culprit, possible it was an issue on the unraid end(?).

Hope it clears up Chris and anyone else that's happening to.

Sorry you're experiencing issues. The update to 6.12.x shouldn't have caused issues with the unraid-api.

If the issue is not actively happening for you it'll be very difficult to know what's causing it.

So if it does happen again and before you try to fix it

  1. On your Unraid server navigate to /Settings/ManagementAccess#UnraidNetSettings
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom
  3. Download the unraid-api logs
  4. Please open a support request on our Contact Page – https://unraid.net/contact#form
    • "Purpose for Contact" field choose "Unraid Connect"
    • "Link to Forum Post" field supply this forum post URL
  5. Then reply to the email message you receive with your unraid-api logs attached.
    • The logs may contain sensitive information so do not post them publicly.

Our Connect devs will then work with you to try and figure out your issue.
