hi im finding it hard to find a am3 motherboard without realtek 8112e nic, im building a 21 drive unraid any recomendations, from th uk

thanx ljh89 but as im building a 21 driver serve r i need a mobo with 2x PCIe 2.0 x16 iv found as few mobo but only with the realtek 8112e nic

 

looking for a mobo for amd cpu with

on board vga

2x PCIe 2.0 x16

5-6 sarta 3gb ports

lan without realtek 8112e nic

...some boards appear to be fitted with the DL-model of the realtec chip...saw same reports here, that they are doing better....sometimes  :D

Although it might be the obvious thing...how about retro-fitting an intel NIC into one of the slower slots?

If AM3 is your top requirement, this in the end might be your only option if the onboard NIC fails to work.

am3 not top of list but would like AMD cpu, so if i find a mobo with a realtek d or l chip i should be ok

I just ended up adding an intel nic in one of the PCI slots. The Nic was only about $15 off ebay from china or some sort.

 

Otherwise as you say it is pretty difficult.
