Files not appearing in smb shares but are definitely on my server.

Hey guys

I just finished building my unraid server (running on unraid 4.7) a few days ago, and all has been pretty good up until now. I've discovered that a massive bunch of files, all from one drive, are not showing up across the network. All of the appropriate folders are showing up, but there isn't a single actual file to be found. Obviously, this worried me, so I telnetted into the server and had a poke around with midnight commander, and its showing that all the files are in fact still there BUT they are showing with an asterix in front of them, and in a different shade of green than other files that DO show up.

This was all working just fine last night (as recently as I can be sure) and now its just... not. I rebooted the server to see if it made any difference, but it seems not to have done.

The drive in question passed pre-clearing and parity error checks and what have you, and since this is only 24 hours later, I doubt its the actual disk failing, there's just something odd going on and I don't know what it is, nor am I experienced enough with unraid to want to go poking myself. Everything else from 4 other drives is appearing perfectly and even windows explorer is telling me there are files in the 'empty' folders... pulling properties will tell me how big and how many files.

So it seems to come down to the asterix in midnight commander.

What does it mean, and how can I make my drive browsable again ?

Thanks guys.

Copying files from that drive to another one doesn't make them re-appear. They still show up as brighter green with an asterix in midnight commander, and won't appear over the network. I figure it's something to do with file permissions or how the shares are set up, but I have no idea how to go about finding out exactly what has changed.
