How can I get my SFTP client to transfer files as nobody:users and not root:root ?

I am logging into my unRAID instance using an SFTP client and moving files over. They are being transferred as user = root and group = root. I'd like them to be nobody:users. 

How do I do this? Right now, I have to manually fix them after transfer (or use the dockersafe permissions plugin).
