No DHCP after moving room

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Unraid sphere and enjoying it. Before putting my Unraid box in its definitive space, I tested it by connecting it directly to my router, and everything was working great.

I moved my Unraid box to another room and connected it with a CAT 6 cable. Since then, it hasn't been receiving a DHCP lease. I've tested the cable using both a tester and a Windows laptop (1 gig connection), and everything works fine.

Any ideas for me? The diagnostic file is in attachment.

Thanks a lot !

I've redone the ethernet plug at both end being extra carefull and now I have "100 Mbps, full duplex, mtu 1500". I'm not sure what's happening. It's a CAT 6 cable and I have full 1000 Mbps on my windows laptop :(

I tried another redo, and now it works... I guess my crimping tools are not the best 😅

Thanks !

That makes sense :)

It can always be a bit confusing when it works at 100 Mbps and not 1000 Mbps.   I think many people do not realise that you can fall back to the slower speed if any of wires within the cable are not making a proper end-to-end connection as the slower speed requires less working connections.
