Need to change USB Port between reboots

Featured Replies

Every time I reboot my system, or it is power cycled, once it powers up again Unraid does not boot. However once the system is powered off, and the USB Boot drive is moved to a different USB port it boots up as expected. I understand that it is not advisable to use USB 3 ports, so I have only been rotating between all the USB 2 ports on my Motherboard.

This is extremely frustrating behaviour as every time I have a power drop (somewhat regular in my location), I have to get into my networking cupboard, and move the USB stick to a new port and reboot for it to all come back again.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before? If so did they have any luck resolving?

Sounds crazy, but I built up a new system and have this exact same issue.  Did you ever solve it?

No unfortunately. I have mostly convinced myself that it is a motherboard issue, but would love to hear from an unraid representative whether this is a known problem

Bumping this topic, this happens to me as well.

Fast Boot is disabled on my Asus ROG STRIX Z370-G GAMING mobo.
