Cache Drive switches to read only at random

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently upgraded my cache drive to a 1TB NVME

Everything works fine and then at random the server will lock up and come back a couple minutes later with a "Drive mounted read-only or completely full"

Now I know for a fact it isn't close to being full and the drive seems to work perfectly fine for hours before having this happen at random. If I reboot the server the drive is gone but doing a full shutdown brings it back to life.

I already tried a few things like adding "append nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 initrd=/bzroot" to the config on the flash but doesn't seem to have helped. One thing that I thought might be the issue is that the platform I am using is pretty old and only has support for PCIE 2.0. I bought the drive without thinking which is a gen 4 drive so not sure if there is something there that could be causing this issue.

Not sure if anyone else has any idea's of whats going on!

NVMe device is dropping offline, if that line didn't help best bet would be to replace it with a different brand/model if possible..
