July 18, 20232 yr The drive shows in the bios, it won't load in the OS though. I see nothing in /dev for nvme0n5. Diagnostics attached. This was there, it was working, one reboot later and it's gone and I don't know why. beast-diagnostics-20230718-1757.zip
July 19, 20232 yr Solution The syslog in your diagnostics shows: Jul 18 17:54:47 BEAST kernel: nvme nvme5: Device not ready; aborting reset, CSTS=0x1 Jul 18 17:54:47 BEAST kernel: nvme nvme5: Removing after probe failure status: -19 This looks like some sort of hardware related error. I would suggest making sure everything is firmly plugged in.
July 19, 20232 yr Author For further information for the next person, I have 6 of these, I pulled the cooler off of 3 of them and the failed on had a bright red LED. I purchased a new nvme and threw it in and it came up right away. The nvme that failed was a Team Group, Inc Mp34. I'm guessing I drew a bad straw and got one with infant mortality, it happens. I'll RMA it an hide it from myself as a cold spare I can't find when I need it.
