VFIO-PCI error on startup

Featured Replies

Hello. I keep getting this error and i can't work out what it is:

VM Autostart disabled: 19-07-2023 15:03
vfio-pci-errors
VM Autostart disabled due to vfio-bind error

In the notifications:

Please review /var/log/vfio-pci-errors

That file:

Error: Vendor:Device 144d:a80a not found at 0000:01:00.0, unable to bind device

Under Tools>System Devices there is no '144d:a80a' BUT, if i look under VIEW VFIO-PCI LOG i can see this, where it is mentioned:

Loading config from /boot/config/vfio-pci.cfg
BIND=0000:01:00.0|144d:a80a
---
Processing 0000:01:00.0 144d:a80a
---
Devices listed in /sys/bus/pci/drivers/vfio-pci:
vfio-pci binding complete

I can edit that .cfg file and delete that entry (the only entry) but i've no idea how it got there or what it is!

There are no VMs installed (i deleted all of them)

Unraid OS Version: 6.12.3

Can anyone help with what to look for or do please?

Many thanks. Wx

Just delete /boot/vfio-pci.cfg and reboot.

  • 11 months later...

Thanks, it helps me to solve the same Error at startup.

  • 4 weeks later...

That is where the boot flash drive is mounted while Unraid is running.   It is what shows up as the 'Boot' device on the Main tab.

It worked. It wasn't actually inside /boot but /boot/config. After deleting it, the error didn't show up on next reboot, so thank you!;)
