5.0b11 Putty and Midnight Commander line breakup problem

Featured Replies

I'm having problems when telneting into my test unRAID beta server by putty and using Midnight commander, all the lines are shown in broken characters making it unusable. I've played around with some of the setting in putty, but any changes seems to make things worse rather than better.

With the same putty settings I have no problems on my production 4.7 server.

Is there some setting that I am missing?

You may need to set the TERM environment variable like so:

TERM=xterm; export TERM

Add this to the .cshrc file if it works.

It may be something worse. Posts a syslog. What type of MB?

I'm having the same problem on my test server running v5b11 and v5b12.  Looks fine on my production server running v4.7.  Setting the TERM parameter doesn't help.  Here's a screenshot of Midnight Commander running on putty on my WinXP machine.  Any other suggestions?

Exactly the same problem seen in the screenshot by stchas.

On OS X, both terminal and iterm displays MC properly, but not X11 xterm which shows exactly the same problem.

TERM is set to xterm, will try get a syslog when I can get the test machine back together again.

Did anyone solve this problem yet?

Thanks
