Removing a Disk from Cache Pool, but now really

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Unraid users,

I recently purchased a new cache drive for my Unraid server. Unfortunately, I accidentally added this new NVMe M.2 drive to the same pool as my existing 500GB M.2 drive. Now, the new drive is showing as "Device is part of a pool." This wasn't my intention, and I realized it later.

I want to remove the new NVMe drive from the current pool and create a new pool for it.

However, it's not as easy as I expected. I've made dozens of attempts, but apart from initiating new parity syncs, I haven't made any progress.

I do know it has been asked before on this forum but after reading them and trying it out it still won't work and getting crazy here :)
Here are some links to the things I've tried:

Link3
And a few more but can't find them.

Is there anyone who can help me?

Thank you!
