[SOLVED]Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!

Recommended Posts

Ran chkdsk and still no joy. I know this is a windows thing but my intstincts tell me to just reinstall. How can I do this without losing my data on my array?

You won't lose any data on your array.  You will have to assign the disks back into the correct slots on the server.  If you assign a data drive to the parity position you will lose the data on that disk.  If you are unsure which drive is parity, assign them all as data disks and the one that shows up not formatted is the parity drive.
