mbryanr
Depending on your expected usage.. you could replace the x2 Regor for the Sempron 145 and save a few $ and watts, plus up the memory to 2x2GB for almost the same price Corsair 2x2GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145278 AMD Sempron 145 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103888&Tpk=Sempron%20145 Quote Link to comment
gisxer
Thanks mbryanr - i will definitely swap out the memory for the 2x2gb, but i want to expand the machine up to 10 or 12 drives not sure if that requires more juice in the cpu. but it will be used for a media server streaming movies with shares to various rooms as well as possibly adding UnTorrent or others i have yet to discover. is it worth the extra $20? mbryanr
Any transcoding? or just serving the files up to a media player or PC? The Sempron has plenty for most add-ons except transcoding. Or for $20...just go with the extra horsepower - never know what you may add. Quote Link to comment
gisxer
i think i'll go with the Athlon for the future but after reading this post http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14406.msg136038#msg136038 i'm switching the MB for this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157199 that brings it to just about $200. perfect.
