i was trying to retrofit an old rig but it has repeatedly failed every unRaid hardware test ive thrown at it.  so i’m just going to use what i can an buy the rest.

first my budget less than $300, and i'll just use the free license in the beginning till i get everything running smooth

also i’d like to expand in the future as i can afford more drives, 5x3s and stuff

Thanks mbryanr - i will definitely swap out the memory for the 2x2gb, but i want to expand the machine up to 10 or 12 drives not sure if that requires more juice in the cpu.  but it will be used for a media server streaming movies with shares to various rooms as well as possibly adding UnTorrent or others i have yet to discover.  is it worth the extra $20?
