6.12.3 Parity Update Frozen

Featured Replies

I am running 6.12.3 and a parity check was run today.

It appears that this has been completed as there are no disk activity or disk reads going on

However the array reports that the parity check is still in progress, but these figures have been frozen for hours and do not update if you refresh the page?

Please find attached diagnostics - I know that Disk 12 has failed

According to the syslog it's done:

Aug 1 18:16:02 Tower kernel: md: sync done. time=65761sec
Aug 1 18:16:02 Tower kernel: md: recovery thread: exit status: 0

But diags have conflicting info, try rebooting and running it again.

I have shut down the array and replaced disk 12, I am  now waiting for parity to rebuild

However when shutting down, I set the shutdown timer to 420 seconds as recommended in another post, an unclean shutdown was detected?

It noted that a driver couldn't be stopped, the text on an attached monitor was moving too fast for me to take note of which driver

Please find attached diagnostics file that the the array took on shutdown, I thought 6.12.3 was supposed to have fixed this issue?

It's not the v6.12.2 issue, but strange that didn't even started unmounting the disks, if you stop the array does it stop?

I have now rebuilt parity, the progress page worked correctly and kept updating until the end.

I am also able to stop the array OK and restart it.

I'm concerned that it did not try to unmount disks last time though.

Please find attached latest diagnostics
