bodman
Hi, I have two zfs pools. One all SAS suds for vm/docker/appdata etc. Second one is 4X6tb SAS HDD’s for main storage. 32GB of RAM of which 16gb is assigned to a Windows VM and 3.84gb assigned to zfs arc. I don’t want to purchase any more ram at the moment but have a 400gb sas ssd available. I am looking to utilise this disk as the l2arc for the main zfs hdd pool. How would I accomplish this? Do I have to use the unassigned devices plugin or create a new single zfs pool with the single disk and, then use CLI to bind that disk to the storage pool. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted August 6, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 6, 2023 With such low RAM assigned to the ARC not sure you really benefit form an L2ARC, but you can add one, instructions here: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/?do=findComment&comment=1256329 Quote Link to comment
