Any help would be appreciated!

Reiserfs can take a long time replaying the journal after an unclean shutdown, it can be hours per disk for large disks, so for now just wait, you should see HDD activity led blinking.

Thanks - I'll let it run. The irony is I was moving files around to format to another filesystem :P

Try not to move files off of ReiserFS, it's tortuously slow. Why bother moving when you are planning to format it anyway, copy instead. That way you can verify the copy is identical to the original, and when you are satisfied you have a good copy of everything on the ReiserFS volume, format it. Format only takes seconds, where deleting files (which is what a move does, copy then delete) can take minutes per file if the ReiserFS system is large and well used.

Ah good to know - if the drives aren't fried I will copy then!
