August 10, 20232 yr Right now, any disk's Identity page allows defining a YYYYMMDD for purchase date and a YYYYMMDD for manufacture date. There is a category for Warranty Period, but it is preconfigured to only allow from 6-50 months. There is no option to add a YYYYMMDD, and no option to add a custom number of months. This should be a straightforward UI change to allow for more than just the pre-configured dropdown. This would be useful because Seagate, Western Digital, and I'm sure other HDD manufacturers all have warranty pages that state the exact end date of warranty periods. For those buying used drives or RMA'd drives, warranty expiry does not always align nicely with manufacture date or purchase date. Thanks for considering this change!
