August 11, 20232 yr Using 6.11.3 I just moved my system from an ASUS B85M-E motherboard with an i7 4790 to an MSI PRO B550-VC with a Ryzen 5 4600G processor. There were only 6 SATA ports on the old board, so I was using a 2 port Asmedia ASM1061 card for 2 of my hard drives. This was working just fine, but I can never leave well enough alone; so here we are. It seemed like everything moved perfectly to the new system, but then I got a CRC error on an SSD plugged into port 8 on the board. That's when I checked the syslog and noticed some errors. At that time it was only the one port giving errors in the log. I tried moving that drive to another cable and port on the motherboard, but the error persisted on port 8. Then I replaced the SATA cable for port 8 and moved some drives around in the chassis. Now I have errors on ports 7 and 8. I believe sdh and sdi are port 7 and 8 on the motherboard. I'm going to update the bios on this motherboard, but I'm not sure what to do to troubleshoot these errors. Any help is very much appreciated. unraid-diagnostics-20230811-1751.zip Edited August 11, 20232 yr by 4l65e added diagnostics zip
August 12, 20232 yr Author Bios update didn't change the behavior, however I'm not getting the errors in syslog after moving the 2 SSDs to a couple of the other 6 ports. I'm not sure what SATA controller MSI used for ports 7 and 8, but there's something weird with it.
