Tibbar
Hi. My server Unraid v4.6 just restarted (crashed). It is doing parity check and it has few sync errors. I wasn't moving any files to the server at the time it crashed. Here is syslog after it started parity check. Any immediate action I should take. Thanks. syslog-2011-09-03.txt Link to comment
Tibbar
Damn. Parity check was ~75% done with 44 sync errors when unraid (or computer itself) crashed and restarted. Doing parity check again. Attached syslog after second crash. Could someone please look at the log and tell me if you can see anything that could couse that. Thanks. syslog-2011-09-04.txt Link to comment
Tibbar
Seams to be a hardware issue. Run memtest, at 3 passes done there was no errors so I still left it to run overnight but.. In the morning instead memtes still running I had unraid on, what means that computer restarted at some point at night. I've reseated all cables, restarted unraid, rerun parity check- no errors and no crash (keeping my fingers crossed). Still do not know what caused it to crash. Link to comment
Johnm
power issues could do that. there could also be several hardware issues.. most common, bad ram, overheating, overloaded or old PSU, shorting since it happened in memtest, that probably rules out somethigk like bad sata data cable (not that that would a reboot) if your hardware is really old. it might be saying something to you... was this box ever stable? you didnt list specs on hardware Link to comment
Tibbar
Most of the hardware is ~3 years old: Asus P5KPL-CM Intel Celeron DUAL-CORE E1200 Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2GB 2X1GB PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W EPS12V Intel PRO/1000 PCI-e Network adapter SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 4 x WD WD20EARS 4 x Hitachi_HUA72101 1TB Ultrastar 3 x WD WDC_WD10EADS Antec Twelve Hundred Case In the span of 3 years had 2 Hard drives go bad other then that system run stable.
