Drive Failed then failed to Rebuild

Featured Replies

Good morning, I found disk1 disabled with no error in smart check. So I removed then assigned again to start the rebuild but it stops and starts a read check which stays paused.

There are errors with multiple apparently heathy disks, suggesting a power/connection problem, see if these two disks share something in common, like a power splitter or miniSAS cable.

Thanks will check as soon as I get home from work.

They share the same power cable but so do all of the rest of the drives. I powered off the server and made sure the power cables were firmly pressed in all the way. Powered back on and started the rebuild process and it worked. I did add a drive the other day so I guess I could have loosened up a cable maybe..
